Welcome to the Iowa-Minnesota District website!
Perhaps the fact that you have checked out our site means you would like to know more about us.
We have been in existence for more than 150 years. About the time the first railroad came through Iowa, the first Wesleyan church in these parts was planted.
However, more important than how long we’ve been here is what’s happening today. We believe God’s Spirit is moving throughout our two states and we want to be part of what He is doing in these days.
We see our mission as three-fold:
Leadership development is happening through mutual learning groups that meet periodically, through seminars we offer, through a more formal ReFocusing process, and through coaching.
We are strengthening our churches by engaging them in the ReFocusing process, providing church health assessment, and by getting involved in conflict resolution as needed. Cedar Springs Camp is also a venue where individuals and churches grow in fellowship and discipleship.
Reaching our culture happens best through church planting. We are committed to plant new churches in the major population areas of our district as we find called and competent church planters with whom we can partner. Obviously, the culture is also impacted as local churches develop evangelistic outreach to their communities.
The upper Midwest is a great place to grow. Corn, soybeans, hogs and cattle grow well in this area. So do churches as we find ways to more effectively meet the spiritual needs of the communities in which we live.
